Flexible storage for sample libraries - HomeBase
HomeBase is a narrow aisle based automated system for management of sample libraries.
The system draws on TAP’s extensive experience in sample management and is installed at major sites worldwide in applications such as DNA and compound storage, as well as protein crystallography.
HomeBase automates

  • Archive and working storage of multiple vessel types - plates, tubes and vials
  • Random access retrieval and in-store re-arraying of vessels
  • Picking based on user defined priority and required-by date
  • Single shot sample handling using PicoTube
  • Barcode tracking of trays, carriers and vessels
  • Environmental control (temperatures down to -20°C and relative humidity)
  • System control using TAP’s Concerto software (and optionally third party ordering systems)
HomeBase offers

  • Optimum use of laboratory space - densest vessel storage available
  • Improved response times to requests from researcher eg assembly of library sets “on demand”
  • Reliable, unattended operation increases researcher productivity
  • Sample quality maintained by rigorously-controlled storage conditions
  • Flexible racking to accommodate changes in stored inventory over time
  • Established design ensures straight-forward implementation
