SelecT
is in use at many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical
companies. |

The following has been
kindly supplied by M Montouté at GlaxoSmithKline
(GSK) and formed part of her presentation at ESACT
2003. It provides an illustration of how SelecT
is being used within the HTS environment. |

“SelecT has been
implemented by GSK to support the cell culture needs
of HTS. It is used to provide consistent, high quality
cells for various receptor-based assays, including
a lipid receptor HTS campaign. This reporter gene
assay utilises the very slow growing HepG2 cell
line and the data illustrates comparisons made between
SelecT and manual cell culture over a two month
period. |
| |
Due to consistent handling
the cells cultured on SelecT provided better assay
quality, demonstrable by higher Z’ values,
whereas a human operator can tire within increasing
numbers of batches.” |
| |
GSK considered
that this screen would not be possible without the
SelecT system. |
