SelecT - cellular reagents for cell-based screening assays
SelecT has become the ‘gold standard’ for cell culture to provide cellular reagents for cell-based screening. It has been installed in over 40 laboratories including all the major pharmaceutical research companies. The system is used in a wide variety of ways, both to provide cells for 1536 well uHTS screening campaigns as well as maintaining multiple cell lines (20+) in support of therapeutic area research
HYPERflask and Triple flask processing options can be added to increase the incubation capacity and allow rapid output of bulk cell suspensions. These can be used directly in assay systems or for freezing into cryovials as part of a frozen cell screening strategy.

  • ATCC chose SelecT for their cell culture production suite to manufacture stocks of their most commonly requested cell lines
  • CAT chose SelecT to produce large quantities of cells daily for the screening of antibody based drug candidates
  • GSK chose SelecT to provide consistent, high quality cells for various receptor-based assays

CompacT SelecT and CellBase - high quality cellular reagents in assay-ready plates

CompacT SelecT has been widely implemented to provide high quality cellular reagents in assay-ready plates for high throughput screening, lead optimisation and assay development. From standard CHO stable cell lines to embryonic stem cells, most adherent mammalian cell lines can be easily grown in the system, with minimal change from the standard manual flask-based processing.

HYPERflask and Triple flask processing options can be added to increase the incubation capacity and allow rapid output of bulk cell suspensions. These can be used directly in assay systems or for freezing into cryovials as part of a frozen cell screening strategy.
The new advanced plating module (APM) provides greater flexibility in plating output options including media changes in standard plates as well as maintenance of transport assay plates such as Caco2.
CompacT Cellbase is used for maintenance and expansion of cells where output only in flasks or harvested suspension is needed.

  • Solvay (Laboratoires Fournier) chose CompacT SelecT to increase the productivity of their cell line maintenance and cell-based screening activities

Cellmate - batch production of biologics

Cellmate has been installed in over 80 sites around the world for batch production of biologics (protein therapeutics and vaccines), process development and research. Cellmate is used in research for producing large quantities of cells for membrane assays.

Cellmate allows flask-based (T flasks and roller bottles) manual culture processes to be scaled up from research to production without process change for products that are difficult or impractical to transition in to large scale bioreactor production.

  • Pfizer chose Cellmate to prepare large, uniform batches of many recombinant cell lines to help increase the speed and scale of their drug discovery efforts

Cello - automation for highly parallel automated clone selection strategies

Cello has been installed in a number of laboratories to fully automate highly parallel automated clone selection strategies. The creation of stable cell lines with a range of growth and expression characteristics optimised to assay requirements require evaluation of a large number of transfection events. Cello manages the culturing and logistics of working with 10,000’s of individual clones to ensure that high quality candidates are available for optimal assays.

Sonata - suspension cultures for production of reagents

TAP’s latest development, Sonata, has been optimised to grow suspension cultures for production of reagents. The system automates maintenance and expansion of mammalian and insect cell lines. The system also automates the production of protrin reagents in stable and transfected cell lines, as well as baccolovirus production and expression.
