Cell
based screening - SelecT |
| |
SelecT
is the leading cell based screening and automated
cell culture system for multiple cell-lines and
assay-ready plate production. SelecT has over 25
installations world-wide. It improves the speed,
accuracy and consistency of cell based screening
and cells generated and fully automates manual cell
culture methods. |
| |
cell lines are maintained
and expanded in T-175 flasks. The system design
ensures that there is no cross contamination even
when many cell lines (upto 182) are cultured in
parallel. Cells can be harvested, counted and seeded
without operator intervention - at any time, day
or night, to help optimise screening productivity. |
| SelecT
automates: |
| |
- Cell based screening
- Expansion and maintenance of multiple cell
lines

420 plates
- Cell counting and viability measurement
- Plating into 96, 384 and 1536-well plates
|
| SelecT
offers: |
| |
- Total flexibility in cell based screening
batch size and numbers of cell lines
- Full audit trail security via bar code tracking
of flasks and plates
- Continuous, unattended operation overnight
or at the weekend to enable screening 5 days
a week; flasks and plates

SelecT was designed
by TAP with a consortium of 6 major pharmaceutical
companies - GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Pfizer, Bristol-Myers
Squibb, AstraZeneca and Parke-Davis (now Pfizer).
Today it is used to supply consistent, high quality
cells in different plate formats at multiple locations
within the majority of the top ten pharmaceutical
companies, where they facilitate assay development
and transferability of protocols between sites. |
| Applications: |
